Bush on Schiavo

I read a very interesting article yesterday, entitled "Bush, Schiavo, and the stench of Hypocrisy" by Ken Sanders, a lawyer from New Mexico. In it, he talks about several incidents that occurred in Texas while W. was governor. He questions why all of a sudden George wants to err on the side of life.

Sanders notes that during the Bush years, Texas executed more people than the other 49 states combined. And Bush refused to stay the execution of a person of extremely diminished mental capacity following a very questionable trial. Also, Bush signed into law a bill that allows Doctors in Texas, after approval by a review board, to withhold life sustaining procedures from anybody considered unrecoverable. Like Terri Schiavo. So if this occurred in Texas, rather than Florida, this can occur without the courts even being involved.
